It’s not the size of the Wacom – it’s how you use it that counts
A long day in production
A long yet very productive day at Wam Bam. Teams are moving quickly onto animating their masterpieces.
Most teams are confident but the real pressure kicks in tomorrow!
Turning animatics into animation
Looks a little like an ipod ad :S
Apparently even super animators need sustenance.
Working late into the afternoon.
Vertices, polygons, geometry, topology, shaders, keys, curves …. it’s all in the lingo.
Starting to stitch pieces together.
Animatics in a 48 hour animation competition … impressive!
Let the Wam Bam begin!
The ominous dark storm clouds haven’t deterred this years 20 WAM BAM participants.
After a brief overview of sponsors, WAnimate, teams, event format and a special message from Pixar animator Simon Allen, Wam Bam 2010 finally got underway.
Teams drew 3 random words from a hat (Or in this case – fancy containers) and were soon frantically brainstorming, conceptualizing and storyboarding their ideas. Team members then made careful plans for which team member will be working on which assets during tomorrows long production day.
A great start with some very interesting and exciting ideas been expressed by all involved – can’t wait to see the visual development tomorrow!
Some more (Hopefully less blurry) photos to come tomorrow.
Less than 24 hours!
Less than 24 hours until WAM BAM 2010 officially kicks off!
Looks like it may be a stormy weekend. Thunderstorms are predicted. Hopefully it won’t dampen everyone’s spirits.
